An anniversary isn’t a wedding 2.0. It’s a celebration where three or four generations come together, old photos resurface, and your story is told again in a single evening. My job is to capture that moment — not by lining everyone up, but by seeing what really happens.

An anniversary is, to me, a form of event photography: the documentary eye on a celebration, with extra attention to the family bond.

How I work at an anniversary celebration

I usually start an hour before the guests arrive. I capture the decorations, the tables, the invitations laid out on the buffet — the details that otherwise get forgotten afterwards. Then I move to the celebration itself: arrivals, first embraces, speeches, old photos being passed around, children running down the hallways, the dinner, the dancing.

I won’t ask you to pose. I do like to make one calm group moment with the whole family — usually just before dinner, when everyone is there and still fresh. Five minutes, and then I’m invisible again.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with a second photographer? On request. As standard I work alone — one is usually enough and keeps things discreet.

What if grandpa or grandma doesn’t want to be in the photo? No problem. I never ask, I work around people. Capturing the quiet moment is often the most beautiful thing anyway.

Do I get the RAW files? Not as standard — but you do get a generous selection of edited JPEGs at full resolution. RAW is open to discussion for an additional fee.

How much does it cost? From €450 for 3 hours of coverage in the Utrecht/Amersfoort region. Request a tailored quote for your specific setting — location, time and group size all play a part.
