Getting married in Amersfoort and surroundings — for me, literally just around the corner. I live in Hoogland and know the venues, the neighbourhoods and the light here at different times of day. No surprises on the wedding day, no budgeted “scouting time”: I know where I need to be.
Amersfoort wedding venues I know
- Amersfoort town hall — a modern wedding hall. Compact, so we agree camera positioning beforehand.
- OLV tower (Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren) — an iconic silhouette for portrait backgrounds, beautiful in the golden hour.
- Coelhorst (estate) — a rural setting just outside the city. Woods, meadows and a charming main building.
- Park Randenbroek — one of the finest city parks in the Netherlands, with stately trees and open spaces for group photos.
- Eemhuis — modern architecture, clean lines, a nice contrast with traditional wedding dress.
- Eemklooster — serene, historic, suited to intimate ceremonies up to ~60 guests.
- De Eemhof / Eem river walking paths — for walking portraits in nature right by the city.
- Bergstraat / Krommestraat — picturesque old-town routes, ideal for a portrait between ceremony and reception.
What suits Amersfoort weddings
Amersfoort has a unique combination of a medieval old town and modern urban expansions (Vathorst, Eemkwartier). Many weddings combine both: a ceremony in the old town and a party at a modern waterside venue.
My approach fits this — documentary and mobile, no fixed setups that dominate the space. The old town has beautiful light at the end of the afternoon; that’s when I often plan the outdoor portraits.
Approach and packages

- Half day — €950 — small-scale, or just ceremony + part of the reception
- Full day — €1,950 — afternoon wedding with an evening party
- Long day — €2,850 — from the morning preparations to deep into the party
