Wedding photographer Utrecht — honest images of your day

Getting married in Utrecht — a city of canals, the Dom tower and an old centre — calls for a photographer who knows the mix of urban atmosphere and intimate moments. From Hoogland I’m in central Utrecht in 20 minutes, and I work regularly at venues in the city and the region.

Utrecht wedding venues I know

• Paushuize — a stately building with intimate halls, ideal for ceremonies up to ~80 guests. A lovely courtyard for portraits in soft light.
• Slot Zeist — a castle with a grand front garden and library hall. Calls for wide angle as well as portraits in the salons.
• Kasteel de Haar (Haarzuilens) — the Netherlands’ largest castle, with fairy-tale gardens. Works best in autumn/winter due to the summer crowds of tourists.
• Utrecht town hall — a modern wedding hall on the Oudegracht. Quick switch between ceremony and a canal walk.
• Domkerk + Pandhof — religious ceremonies or a secular celebration in the cloister garden. The acoustics call for careful camera positioning during speeches.
• Janskerk — a medieval church, beautiful light through the stained-glass windows.
• Wilhelminapark / Lepelenburg / Maliebaan — favourite spots for a portrait session between ceremony and reception.

What suits Utrecht weddings

City weddings call for an agile photographer — narrow streets, tourist crowds, quick switches between locations. I work discreetly and mobile: one bag, two bodies, three lenses. No tripod setups blocking the way.

For the canal walk between ceremony and reception: I know how the light falls at each time of day, which bridges photograph best from the quay, and how to let the couple pose without coming across as forced.

Approach and packages

The same approach as described on the main wedding photographer page — documentary, no staged poses, a complete day storyline. For Utrecht and surroundings (within 30 km of Hoogland) I charge no travel costs.

Packages (same as nationwide):

• Half day — €950 — ~4h, ceremony + part of the reception
• Full day — €1,950 — ~8h, the complete day up to the first dance
• Long day — €2,850 — ~12h, from the preparations to deep into the party

A Friday in September fills up fast — book at least 6 months ahead for popular dates.
